I’m very excited to announce that Blue Umbrella has been invited to play the Sask Jazz Fest MainStage in Victoria Park on July 9th at 7PM. I was already pumped to be in the crowd for Modest Mouse and Bruce Cockburn, but now we’ll be on stage too!

This makes me happy for many reasons, not least of which being that it’s right down the street from my house. Every year we wander down to the river, meet up with friends, enjoy the shows, and let the kids run wild. It’s a scene and I hope you’ll join us and stick around after to hear 2025 SK Rock Artist of the Year, Dump Babes. Admission is free, fun times await.

And, exciting as it is to play a ninety-minute set in front of a couple of thousand people as our first show, it’s also mildly terrifying. So let’s not do that! You can catch the Blue Umbrella live debut on June 18th at Somewhere Else Pub& Grill.

It was great to hear back from a lot of you about the first single, Ignorance, many telling me you’re hearing early Hip and REM in the sound. Not necessarily intentional, just how the song came to life, but I’m not complaining! It’s up on Spotify now if you missed hearing it the first time (or want to share with a friend.)

Pre-Order Recklessly Yours

And, because I know you’re dying to hear more, here’s a sneak preview of our second single from Recklessly Yours: Tropical Storm.

Let us know what you think. More songs and backstory to come. Meanwhile, off to rehearsal!!!
